Croatia: This beautiful country is situated on the coast line of the Balkan Peninsula and it is a little treasure, visited by a big number of tourists every year. It has one of the best coastlines in Europe, with cities like Split, Pula and especially Dubrovnik. A family can rent a car and drive through the countryside or go to a different beach every day. Alternatively, a boat trip will take you to one of the nearby islands. The Adriatic Sea is truly beautiful and enchanting and the coastline offers plenty of entertainment. There is a big range of water sports for children and adults, there are great sightseeing opportunities and sufficient affordable accommodation. The locals are friendly and hospitable and for a fraction of your money you can get a great family room in a self-catered hotel.

The Baltic States: With a growing tourism industry, this area is attracting more and more visitors throughout the year. Famous for its natural beauty, affordable prices, delicious seafood and rich heritage, the countries of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania are well-connected, so you can travel in all of them quite easily. Their capital cities have distinctive feel. Tallinn is quite small, but it has beautiful hills with awe-inspiring views of the Gulf of Finland. The biggest capital in the Baltic area is Riga which is an incredibly cosmopolitan city with stunning architecture. Head to Sigulda for a cable car ride, which is a unique experience. Last but not least, visit Vilnius – a city of spectacular boulevards and a beautiful castle which overlooks the valleys and the river. The old town will enchant you and take you back in time.

The opportunities for family activities in the UK are just endless. It’s the country where sightseeing is a must – old castles, fortresses, streets and theatres from the middle ages, etc. A must-see town is Bath – it exhibits intact spas and architecture from the time of the Roman Empire. Another impressive stop is Bristol, where the incredible Clifton Bridge is. London is full of things to see and do and your children will simply love it.
