Top Five Most Haunted Places on Earth


The existence of ghosts and other such creatures is a fact. Most people believe in the existence of ghouls, but some people out there also deny their existence. If you’re among the deniers, this article will surely make you believe in such creatures as it contains the list of Top Five Most Haunted Places on Earth.


 


1. Borley Rectory


Not only the Borley Rectory is at first spot on our list of top five most haunted places on earth, it is also the Most Haunted House in England. Situated in a small town Borley, this Gothic-style rectory was built in 1863. Though the village isn’t the sort of haunted place, but because of being the site of Borley Rectory, it has a horrendous reputation. While, this large Victorian mansion had been the site of infrequent paranormal activities since its construction, but the reports multiplied suddenly in year 1929, after the findings of a paranormal-researcher Harry Price were published in the Daily Mirror. Finally, Borley Rectory was demolished by fire in year 1939 because of its dreadful reputation.


 


2. Stanley Hotel


On the second number we have Stanley Hotel. Opened in year 1909, this 140-room neo-Georgian hotel is believed to be haunted as many people have experienced paranormal activities here, chiefly in the ballroom. Many guests and workers often claim to have heard sound as someone playing piano in the ballroom and some of them have even seen the keys moving. Many people believe that the ghost roaming in the Stanley hotel is of Freelan O. Stanley’s wife, who used to play piano. Some have also claimed to witness a man standing on the bed in a guest room. But as soon as they saw it, it disappeared. Moreover, some also reported to have heard ghosts’ kids playing in the lobby, only to find it empty.


 


3. Tower of London


Her Majesty’s Royal Palace and Fortress generally known as the Tower of London, is located on the northern bank of the River Thames, England. It is third among top five most haunted places on earth. The ghost rummaging around in the Tower is believed to be Ann Boleyn, one of the spouses of Henry VIII, who was beheaded in the Tower during 1536. Her ghost has been seen on several occasions, at times carrying her head, in the Tower Chapel Royal and on Tower Green. Other ghouls include those of Thomas Becket, Sir Walter Raleigh and Henry VI.


 


4, Woodchester Mansion


England boasts another building with a ghostly repute and that’s Woodchester Mansion. Just because of the baffling creatures living over here, the building was left uncompleted. In the last two hundred years employees have repeatedly fled from the place and seven engineers are rumored to have died in enigmatic accidents. Unusual noises are often heard here, such as the sound of crashing masonry or crying. Moreover, many ghosts, which also include those of a young girl and Roman soldiers, have reportedly been witnessed in the Woodchester Mansion.


 


5. Catacombs of Paris


The Catacombs of Paris is an underground ossuary in Paris, France. It is located on the southern side of the former city gate. It was opened to the public in1874. Presence of the remains of roughly 6-7 million corps on a single place is horrible enough to secure a spot for Catacombs of Paris in the top five most haunted places on earth list.
