1. The Inaugural Ceremony

The inaugural ceremony of Paralympics 2012 was one of the most splendid, and most celebratory opening ceremony done for the Paralympic Athletes from different countries who came here to join the collective efforts of the event’s organizers just for paving the way to disabled but best athletes. The ceremony was ranked as the night for enlightenment and inspiration by many just because of its creative theme, and mind blowing preparations the participants and performers had made before its beginning. The preparation done for this 11-day event, to find the noblest athlete was really incomparable.

2. The First Gold of Ellie Simmonds

The second best Paralympica moment was that when Ellie Simmonds won the first gold medal. She showed a different sort of revelation while winning and receiving the medal. 17-year-old Ellie actually sobbed, and was in tears while hitting the concluding stroke. In fact, she has claimed total four medals, two gold, one silver, and one bronze. Moreover, she also received another title of a national treasure because of her outstanding performances during the Paralympics 2012.

3. Victory of Sarah Storey

Third on the list of top five Paralympics moments 2012 is the victory of Sarah Storey who still feels the great experience that she had on the recently concluded Paralympics 2012. She took home four gold medals as she made the spectators amazed with her performance on a cycling road. Storey is very happy as she and other winners of the event will potentially be lined up to greatest Olympians.

4. Same Track, a New Race

Formula One racer Alex Zanardi lost both his legs in a fierce car accident in year 2001.  After almost eleven year, he returned to one of those tracks where he raced cars as a hand-cyclist. The 45-year-old athlete won two gold medals, but none of these two is victory Zanardi would miss.

5. Back-to-Back Golds in the 100m and 200m

Jason Smyth, an Irish sprinter with only ten percent normal vision, had a goal of making appearance in the Olympics and the Paralympics in one year. However, he unfortunately couldn’t get into the Olympic because of missing out the “A” qualifying standard time, and now he’ll have to wait until 2016 for making an appearance in Olympics.
